Scrap and recycling materials from Turkey
Turkey runs one of the world's largest scrap-consuming steel industries, and around it has grown an export trade in recovered materials. Our current programme centres on baled tire wire scrap — the high-carbon steel bead and belt wire recovered when end-of-life tires are shredded, pressed into dense bales for furnace charging. It is a consistent, high-tensile feedstock valued by steel mills and foundries as a clean carbon-steel input.
Recovered commodities trade on specification: bale density and dimensions, rubber contamination percentage, and loading weight per container decide the price alongside the steel market index. We publish those numbers per lot and photograph the actual bales before loading.
How scrap deals work
Scrap is quoted per tonne, indexed to the market at contract date; a 20ft container loads roughly 24–26 tonnes of baled wire. Inspection is welcome — SGS or equivalent third-party survey at loading is standard on first deals, and weighbridge tickets accompany every container.
